Basic knowledge of electronic component welding; plug-in component welding method

Date:2022-08-05 15:34:58 Views:1325

For engineers in the electronics industry, welding seems to be "easy", but in fact, there are many small ways. If you are not careful, you may cause the failure of the whole PCB board due to the error of a solder joint. Therefore, mastering the basic knowledge of welding and skilled use of relevant tools become the first step to do a good job in welding. The following describes in detail that when installing or replacing plug-in electronic components, soldering is mainly used to weld plug-in components.

01 pre processing operation

(1) Pin alignment

Use a steel wire pliers to straighten the pins of components along the original angle, do not appear uneven places, and pay attention to that the jaw of the steel wire pliers should not have lines to prevent scratching the pins of components.

(2) Pin cleaning

The pins of electronic components are exposed to air for a long time, which is easy to produce oxide layer and affect the welding effect. The pins with light oxidation can be wiped with a soft cloth dipped with alcohol; If the oxidation is serious or there are serious corrosion points, use an electric knife or sandpaper to remove them. When using an electrician's knife or sandpaper to remove the oxide layer, a protective tape of about 3mm should be left on both sides of the components.

(3) Pin bending

Use pointed nose pliers or tweezers to bend the pins of components, hold the pins of components with hands, and clamp the parts that need to be bent with pointed nose pliers to bend.

(02) welding (no beating)

(1) Heating weldment

Contact the soldering iron head with the welding point to evenly heat the welding part. Do not apply force to the soldering point with the soldering iron head, and do not heat it for too long.

(2) Molten solder

When the temperature of the solder joint reaches the demand, the electric iron takes a small amount of flux, places the solder wire on the welding part, and the electric iron melts the solder wire and moistens the welding part to form the solder joint.

Important tips

The temperature of the electric soldering iron shall be kept at an appropriate temperature. If the heating temperature is too high, the flux will not have enough time to flow on the welding surface and volatilize, and the solder will melt too fast, which will affect the role of the flux.

(3) Remove the solder wire

When a certain amount of solder is melted, remove the solder wire, and the melted solder cannot be too much or too little. Too much solder will cause cost waste, reduce work efficiency, and easily cause lap welding and short circuit. And too little solder can not form a solid solder joint.

(4) Remove the soldering iron

When the solder is completely wetted and the coverage meets the requirements, the electric iron can be removed. The direction of removing the electric iron should be approximately 45 ° with the circuit board, and the removal speed should not be too slow.

Removing the electric iron is an important part of the welding operation. If there is a deviation in the direction or speed of removing the electric iron, it will have a great impact on the quality of the solder joint. If the moving direction is not correct, the welding spot will be pointed or welded.
