Most semiconductor devices usually indicate that they need to be used at a certain temperature level, such as "commercial" temperature level (0 ℃ ~ 70 ℃) or "industrial" temperature level (- 40 ℃ ~ + 85 ℃). These two types of temperature levels can basically meet the needs of semiconductor customers who dominate the computer industry, telecommunications industry and consumer electronics industry. In addition, there is a demand for devices outside the "industrial" temperature range, mainly from aerospace, military, oil and gas exploration, and automotive electrical industry. However, these needs are not large enough to attract the interest of major semiconductor manufacturers to manufacture these devices specifically for them. In fact, wider temperature levels are becoming obsolete and equivalent devices cannot functionally replace them.

Common electronic components are generally classified according to service temperature, radiation, anti-interference, etc. The grade is divided into the following five categories: commercial grade, industrial grade, automotive grade, military grade and aerospace grade.

Commercial grade - the temperature is 0 ℃ ~ + 70 ℃, which is common and frequently traded in the market. Computers, mobile phones and household appliances are basically commercial grade, with the cheapest, most common and most practical price.

Industrial grade - the temperature is: - 40 ℃ ~ + 85 ℃, which is slightly lower than the military grade, followed by the price and the precision.

Automotive industrial grade - the temperature is: - 40 ℃ ~ 125 ℃. Precision components mainly used in automobiles require higher temperature and are more expensive than industrial grade.

Military grade - the temperature is: - 55 ℃ ~ + 150 ℃. It is mainly used in military fields such as missiles, aircraft, tanks and aircraft carriers. Any part of the electronic components in military industry is the most advanced, with leading technology, high price and high precision.

Space grade - the temperature is: - 55 ℃ ~ + 150 ℃. Space grade components are the highest level of components. They are mainly used in rocket, spacecraft, satellite and other aerospace fields. The service temperature is the same as that of military grade, but anti radiation and anti-interference functions are added on the basis of military grade.
