Surge/Lightning Immunity Test

Description:

The surge immunity test is designed to simulate the lightning strikes in nature or the impact of pulses generated by the connection of large capacitive loads to the power grid on devices. The test includes tests at the power source and signal ends.

Power source end tests: These include L-N (line-to-neutral), L-G (line-to-ground), and N-G (neutral-to-ground) tests. The first type is called differential mode interference, and the second type is called common mode interference.

Signal end tests: If it is a network cable or telephone line, the interference is applied to the signal line; if it is a shielded cable, the interference is applied to the shielding layer.

Scope: The maximum test voltage for both power source and signal ends is 7kV.

Scope of Application:

Electronics and electrical products.
